Klense Group Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, servitude, exploitation and unlawful labour practices within its business operations and supply chain.

We recognise our responsibility to act ethically, transparently and with integrity in all business relationships. Klense Group Ltd expects the same standards from employees, workers, contractors, suppliers and any third parties acting on behalf of the company.

Klense Group Ltd has a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.

2. Scope of Policy

This policy applies to:

• all employees of Klense Group Ltd;
• cleaning operatives;
• supervisors and managers;
• temporary workers;
• agency workers;
• subcontractors;
• suppliers;
• consultants;
• any person or organisation working on behalf of Klense Group Ltd.

This policy applies across all Klense Group Ltd operations and client sites.

• ensuring workers are free to leave employment in accordance with their employment terms;
• refusing to knowingly work with suppliers or contractors involved in modern slavery or exploitative practices.

4. Recruitment and Employment Practices

Klense Group Ltd aims to maintain responsible recruitment and employment practices. This includes:

• carrying out right-to-work checks;
• verifying worker identity where required;
• ensuring workers are not required to surrender passports or identity documents;
• ensuring workers are not charged unlawful recruitment fees;
• providing clear information about work, pay and expectations;
• maintaining fair treatment of workers;
• providing appropriate supervision and management;
• ensuring staff are paid lawfully and fairly.

Klense Group Ltd confirms that staff employed to deliver the 10 Fair Street cleaning contract will be paid no less than the London Living Wage.

5. Supplier and Subcontractor Expectations

Klense Group Ltd expects suppliers and subcontractors to operate ethically and in compliance with applicable employment, labour and anti-slavery laws.

Suppliers and subcontractors are expected to:

• avoid any form of forced, bonded or involuntary labour;
• avoid human trafficking or exploitation;
• employ workers lawfully;
• pay workers lawfully;
• maintain safe working conditions;
• treat workers with dignity and respect;
• cooperate with Klense Group Ltd where compliance checks or concerns arise.

Where Klense Group Ltd has reason to believe that a supplier, contractor or third party is involved in modern slavery or exploitative labour practices, the company may suspend or terminate the relationship and report concerns to the appropriate authorities where required.

6. Training and Awareness

Klense Group Ltd will promote awareness of modern slavery risks among relevant managers, supervisors and staff.

Staff will be encouraged to report concerns where they suspect:

• forced labour;
• exploitation;
• human trafficking;
• workers being controlled or coerced;
• unsafe or abusive working conditions;
• unlawful deductions from wages;
• workers being denied freedom of movement;
• workers appearing fearful, intimidated or under the control of another person.

7. Reporting Concerns

Any employee, contractor or representative of Klense Group Ltd who suspects modern slavery, exploitation or human trafficking must report the concern to management as soon as possible.

Concerns may be reported to:

Klense Group Ltd will treat concerns seriously and will investigate appropriately. Where necessary, Klense may escalate concerns to relevant authorities.

8. No Retaliation

Klense Group Ltd will not tolerate retaliation against anyone who raises a genuine concern about modern slavery, exploitation or unethical labour practices.

Anyone raising concerns in good faith will be treated respectfully and fairly.

9. Monitoring and Review

Klense Group Ltd will review this policy periodically and update it where necessary to reflect business operations, legal requirements and good practice.

The company will continue to monitor its employment practices, supplier relationships and operational procedures to reduce the risk of modern slavery and exploitation.
